The Magic on the Other Side of Fear
“It's impossible,” said pride. “It's risky,” said experience. “It's pointless,” said reason. “Give it a try,” whispered the heart.”
— Unknown
There was a time—not that long ago—when I was sitting in a government office, in a stable 20-year career, checking all the “shoulds” off the list.
Pension? Check.
Benefits? Check.
Security? Check.
But something deep in my soul was whispering… “There’s more for you than this.”
It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t flashy. It was quiet, almost too quiet to hear over the hum of fluorescent lights and the weight of expectations. But once you hear that whisper, you can’t un-hear it.
At first, I brushed it off.
"You’re being ungrateful,” said pride.
“It’s too risky,” said my experience.
“You’ll regret leaving,” said reason.
But my heart kept whispering:
“What if it works out?”
Fear’s Favorite Disguises
Fear doesn’t always show up with a flashing red light and a siren. Sometimes, it wears disguises:
Sound familiar?
Fear is clever. It’s designed to keep you safe—but safe isn’t the same as soul-aligned.
And if you're anything like me, you're not here to play it small. You’re here to RISE.
The Moment Everything Changed
The moment I made the decision to leave my “safe” career and step into the unknown was not graceful or perfect. There were tears. Fears. Doubts.
But there was also this deep, magnetic pull toward freedom. Toward purpose. Toward truth.
I didn’t have all the answers (still don’t, TBH).
I just had a feeling… and a whole lot of trust in the next step.
That decision led me to this life I’m living now—coaching, creating, traveling with my husband, sharing the power of mindset and NLP with the women I’m meant to serve.
None of that would’ve happened if I hadn’t dared to ask:
What if it works out?
Truth Bomb: The “What Ifs” Work Both Ways
So often we spiral into worst-case “what ifs,” right?
But let’s flip that…
Let’s Reframe It
“Everything you want is on the other side of fear.” — Jack Canfield
That thing you’re afraid to do? It might just be your portal to freedom.
The risk you’re avoiding might be your transformation.
The nudge you’ve been feeling might be your soul trying to lead.
Journal Prompts to Take You Deeper
Light a candle, pour a cup of something delicious, and reflect:
From My Heart to Yours
The fear doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path. It often means you’re on the right one.
So if your heart has been whispering, “Give it a try…”
Lean in.
Breathe deep.
Take one bold, aligned step.
You never know…
What if it works out?
